In the Mirror

By Jason L. Langlois

There's a monster in the mirror
It's not that plain to see
It won't appear above my head
Or standing next to me

It has teeth that look like nails
It's eyes glow evil red
It stares at me on the other side
I think it wants me dead.

There's a monster in the mirror
He stands there every day
And things have happened lately
In most peculiar ways

Suzie said she saw something
When Johnny cracked his head
She said she'd tell the teacher
Now little Suzie's dead

There's a monster in the mirror
He's looking back at me
And every day he gets a little
Easier to see

My father had an accident
My mother died in bed
There's a monster in the mirror
And I think it made them dead

There's a monster in my mirror
It's gotten plain to see
That there's a monster in the mirror...

I think the monster's me
